CMJ Shows?!
Yes, CMJ shows. The dates and info are contained in the LIVE section, as well as on our MySpace. We love CMJ so much, we decided to play not one, not two, but – wait, no. Two shows. We're playing two shows. Awesome, though!
EP Release!
It's finally here: Burning Birthdays is released today! You can get a digital copy over at iTunes or ask Harlem Shakes to send the real thing directly to you. It will come with a gold star and will be sealed with a kiss.
DATES N DATES
Back to Thevandra! We are very excited to say that we’ll be heading on a coast-to-coast tour in April and May with Tapes ‘n Tapes and Ladyhawk. We’ll venture as far west as the Far West and as far north as the Great White North (read: Canada) – if they let us in! Somewhere along the way, we’ll beat Tapes ‘n Tapes at basketball but lose to them in football. Many hugs will be exchanged with Ladyhawk. Check out the dates here, and look out for more to come.
END OF TOUR (FROWN FACE)
Harlem Shakes are done! Not for good, but just our first tour through the beautiful South. We’re happy to say that there were no van breakdowns or emotional breakdowns, though our immune systems didn’t hold up too well. We’d like to thank our new pals in Deerhoof (as well as Peter Venuto), Busdriver, Caural, and Flying for an amazing two weeks. Thanks to everyone who came out early to see us play, we had a great time meeting so many great people and visiting new cities! A special word of thanks to everyone who let us crash with them, floors, beds, couches, attics, basements and all. For lurid details, check out the tour blog we did for Pop Matters called “Notes From the Road.” We’ll have some more photos up soon documenting the trip. Here’s our favorite: a human pyramid of Deerhoof, Busdriver, and Harlem Shakes in Winston-Salem, NC!
NEW SITE
We've launched our new website! It looks best in firefox, opera, safari, or lynx; however it should look almost the same in any other browser (read internet explorer 5.5 or above). Many thanks to Nadeem Mesbah for all his hard work and for putting up with our irrational demands. Dance, Nadeem, dance!
Release-a-ganza!
Burning Birthdays Release-a-Ganza! To celebrate, we're having a pair of parties in Manhattan and Brooklyn on February 1 and 2. We'll be joined by lots of friends and a few special guests. Champagne not provided.
TOUR!
Following the release of our new EP, we'll be visiting some great Southern cities over two weeks in support of our heroes Deerhoof! They'll be promoting their excellent new album Friend Opportunity. We will relish the opportunity to be their friends and tour mates. Look out for special guest appearances by some of our friends! Head over to the Tour section for more details.

New EP Announced
Happy 2007!
We're so excited to announce that we are finally releasing our debut EP, Burning Birthdays, on February 6, 2007. The EP features 5 songs and was produced with love and care by Chris Zane (Les Savy Fav, Asobi Seksu) and features original art by our friend and former accomplice Josh Morgenthau. We also enlisted the help of Jon Natchez on accordion and baritone sax. You can find the EP on Insound, iTunes , eMusic, Amp Camp, or directly from us! For a little taste, we'll be streaming all of Burning Birthdays over in the music player during February.
