Many of us point upwards or to the sky to mean we offer something (or even everything) to the supreme being. Others do this when they try to tell someone that there is hope. Others love to take pictures of the night sky or the sky with the sunrise or the sunset. Whatever your reason may be, everyone of us has something to connect with the sky.

American Country singer-songwriter Jamey Johnson penned this song together with Rivers Rutherford. Even the Skies Are Blue is included in Jamey Johnson’s third studio album titled The Guitar Song which was released on September 10, 2010 by Mercury Nashville. In the song, the persona narrates the bad things happening in our world and he said nobody is doing anything about it. He mentioned about “even the sky is “blue” somewhat saying the sky is sad about what is going on.

20. Amarillo Sky – Jason Aldean

The Amarillo Sky is a track from Jason Aldean’s self-titled debut album which was released on July 26, 2005. The song is about the plight of farmers in Texas, USA, but I bet all farmers from all over the world can relate to the message of this song. The beginning of this music video shows three young farmers telling about their family’s farm and their hopes about it–which I think is the same aspirations of other farmers.

This song tells us that everything is temporary. The analogy between a problem or a struggle and the cloud blocking the sun is seamless. It is inspiring that it tells us that once that cloud passes, we will see the sun shining.

Wheel in the Sky is the eighth track of the American rock band Journey in their fourth studio album titled Infinity which was released on January 20, 1978 under Columbia Records. This song shows the symbolism of wheels in our life. As a wheel keeps on turning, so does the cycle of things in our life–nothing is sure. The song tells about the persona who wants to go home but for some circumstances he can’t, and he is afraid of what tomorrow might bring.

17. Light Up the Sky – The Afters

We all have experienced a moment in our life when we feel as though we are in the darkness and no one is there to help us through it. Light Up the Sky is an inspirational song by the American Christian pop rock band The Afters. They came up with this song after losing their former manager and their drummer’s best friend. This song will make us feel that no matter how big our problem is, God is always there doing something to help us.

Its message also tells us that no matter who we are, there are really things that we cannot control, but one thing’s for sure: “There’s a blue sky waiting tomorrow.” Blue sky symbolizes a better future.

Spirit in the Sky is the carrier track of the album that is of the same title as the song. Norman Greenbaum, although Jewish, wrote this song after watching Porter Wagoner sing a gospel song on TV. Spirit in the Sky talks about preparing oneself for what is going to happen after we die, based on Christian belief, that is, meeting “the spirit in the sky” who is referred to as the Lord Almighty.

This is the last recording she did with RCA because she signed with Columbia Records in the early 2022.

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds is a song by the classic English rock band legend, The Beatles. John Lennon said that this song was about his son Julian’s drawing when he was about to be four years old. He said that Julian drew stars which he then called Lucy in the stars with diamonds. It was later known that the inspiration of the drawing was the then classmate of Julian, Lucy O’Donnell. The song was featured in the movie “Yellow Submarine”.

This song was penned by the founder and the only constant member of Owl City Adam Young. To the Sky was the theme of the movie “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole”, Director Zcak Snyder’s debut animation film.
