Lorde wrote and produced the song herself, with the help of Jack Antonoff, a multi-instrumentalist who played various instruments on the track. Fun fact, Antonoff was also heavily involved in Lorde’s previous album, Melodrama.
Speaking of success, Lorde has been killing it since the start of her career. Despite being from New Zealand, her first LP, Pure Heroine, achieved triple-platinum status in the US. Although her second album, Melodrama, wasn’t as commercially successful, it did receive critical acclaim, reaching the top spot on the Billboard 200.
