His uncle, a well-known singer in India, further encouraged Nav’s interest in music by taking him to the studio.

Nav’s musical taste was influenced by classic hip-hop albums from artists like JAY-Z, The Notorious B.I.G., Nas, and many others. He attended West Humber Junior Middle School for his early studies, followed by Thistletown Collegiate Institute for his high school education.

In 2010, Nav enrolled at the Metalworks Institute in Mississauga, Ontario, where he pursued a diploma in Audio Production and Engineering. During his time in school, he produced beats for local Toronto rappers before creating beats for his own music.

Nav’s career took a turn when he had the opportunity to collaborate with the legendary artist Drake, co-producing the hit single Back to Back. Nav’s success continued when he released his first viral single Take Me Simple on Soundcloud in 2015, which has now accumulated over 10 million listens. The following year, Nav released another hit single Myself, which quickly became a massive success.

In 2017, Nav released his self-titled debut mixtape and collaborated with Metro Boomin for the mixtape Perfect Timing.

Under the record labels XO and Republic Records, Nav released his debut studio album, Reckless, which featured guest appearances from Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, Gunna, and Quavo. The album peaked at number 5 on both the US and Canadian Billboard charts and was certified Gold by RIIA and Platinum by Music Canada.
