Sean John Combs, or better known as Puffy, was born in Harlem, New York City on November 4, 1969? He grew up in Mount Vernon, New York, after his father was shot to death while sitting in his car on Central Park West when Combs was only two years old.
Combs attended the Roman Catholic Mouth Saint Michael Academy and graduated in 1987. He then decided to go to Howard University to pursue a business major, but later left after his sophomore year.
After leaving college, he scored an internship at New York’s Uptown Records, where he worked hard and eventually became a talent director. While at Uptown, he helped to develop artists such as Jodeci and Mary J. Blige. However, he got fired from Uptown in 1993, but he didn’t let that stop him.
