Polo G grew up in Chicago with his mom Stacia Mac, his dad Taurus Bartlett, and his siblings Leilani, Taurean, and Leia. Fun fact: Taurean is also a rapper who goes by the name Trench Baby! I guess talent runs in the family.
Before becoming a full-time musician, Polo G had plans to major in broadcasting at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. But you know what they say, life happens when you’re busy making other plans. On the day he was supposed to start classes, he decided to follow his passion for music instead. And we’re so glad he did!
Polo G’s mom, Stacia, used to be a property manager, but now she’s her son’s manager. It’s amazing to see family support in action, and it’s definitely working out for Polo G. With hits like “Rapstar” and “Pop Out,” he’s quickly making a name for himself in the music industry.

Polo G started his music career by releasing his first song “ODA” on YouTube, and now his channel has more than 4.8 million subscribers – talk about making it big!
He also created a SoundCloud account in 2018 and released “Gang with Me,” which quickly gained millions of views. He followed that up with “Welcome Back,” “Neva Cared,” and “Finer Things,” and in 2019, he dropped his debut album, “Die a Legend,” on Columbia Records.
The album was a hit, reaching #6 on the “Billboard” 200 chart, #1 on the Top Rap Albums chart, and #2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. It also had some standout singles such as “Pop Out” and “Finer Things,” which went 6x Platinum and 2x Platinum, respectively. “Pop Out” even made it to #11 on the “Billboard” Hot 100 chart, #5 on the Hot Rap Songs chart, and #7 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, and the music video has over 275 million views on YouTube.
Polo G’s second album, “The Goat,” came out in May 2020, and it also did pretty well, reaching #2 on the “Billboard” 200, Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and Top Rap Albums charts. It even charted in Canada! The singles “Heartless,” “Go Stupid,” and “Martin & Gina” were all certified Platinum or higher.
Then, in June 2021, Polo G dropped his third album, “Hall of Fame,” and it went straight to the top of the charts! Personal Life
Here’s a quick update on Polo G’s life. On July 6, 2019, Polo G became a father to a son named Tremani with his girlfriend Crystal Blease. That’s pretty awesome, right?
But, on a more serious note, in August 2019, the rapper had a scary incident where he was hospitalized after a drug overdose at a party. He shared pictures of himself from the hospital bed on social media and wrote that he got “a lil too lit” and almost lost his life. Yikes!
Thankfully, Polo G has made some positive changes since then. He decided to stop using Xanax and ecstasy, which is really great news. However, in June 2021, Polo G was arrested in Miami for allegedly attacking a police officer during a traffic stop. He was facing several charges, including battery, making threats, and criminal mischief.
Fast forward a bit, and in November 2021, three of those charges were dropped. According to Polo G’s lawyer, the remaining two charges will also be dropped once he finishes an anger management program. So, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel for him.
It’s definitely been a rollercoaster ride for Polo G, but it’s good to see that he’s making progress and taking steps to improve his life. We wish him all the best!
